i was originally .cgi, but i have no idea what that is, so i tried again. also, this site may have pop-ups. my ad-aware was going ballistic while i had it up, so i have a feeling that it was the culprit...unless the BBC and TypePad have decided to get *really* annoying...

CGI = Common Gateway Interface (the 'common' really implies 'very compatable'); it's an exe[cutable] for the web; or put another way: a dynamic web page. Hey I'm a part-time geek - and so not an .swf either (lack substance? pfft!). HTML, ah, better, perfect even.

I am .gif!
Sometimes i am animated, but usually I just sit there and look pretty.
.cgi is a web script. Usually written in Perl. Shane would love you for it.
