Where are you people? It's 3:35pm and apparently out of the 12 people who have RSVP'ed, only one of you has shown up. Props to Priya.

The rest of you suck. I was going to say "beyond the power of words to describe," but then realized what a cop out that phrase is for someone sitting at a writing workshop, getting progressively more and more irate at being proved yet again how absurd his peers are.

You'd think I'd have gotten over it by now. Well, this one goes out to the entire group. Shame on you if you RSVP'ed and then simply forgot or overslept (3pm! Jesus, how hard is that?).

Ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous.

A N N A   : :-)
myJaywalkingLawyer: oooh
myJaywalkingLawyer: ouch

A N N A   : a few mins later, raghav showed which was great
myJaywalkingLawyer: that really, really sucks - what is UP with that?
A N N A   : and then at 4:15 sini came. she's a rockstar
A N N A   : ran the 5k
A N N A   : went to work
A N N A   : and STILL showed up
A N N A   : so wtf excuse could anyone have, next to THAT?  ;-)
myJaywalkingLawyer: that's the thing - they don't have excuses, they just don't care

A N N A   : it was nice though, w/five people
A N N A   : we all went to cosi afterwards, with -----
A N N A   : and sjm and i had smores w/our cappuccinos
A N N A   : it was raucous fun
myJaywalkingLawyer: nice, i've always wanted to do the s'mores thing

A N N A   : lots of talk of zoophilia, home-made porn and asskissing
A N N A   : you missed out, natch ;-)
A N N A   : the dolphin fucking...now that conversation had ALL of cosi utterly appalled
A N N A   : :-D

A N N A   : i was sooo sad i missed manish's party
A N N A   : how was it???
A N N A   : and the castle in boerum hill???
A N N A   : and the bus???
myJaywalkingLawyer: bus was great - very friendly people
myJaywalkingLawyer: bus was not great, but not it's fault - part of the NJ turnpike was closed (!!!)
A N N A   : dear lord
myJaywalkingLawyer: so we had to detour around and were like 1/2 hour late
myJaywalkingLawyer: yeah i was like "FARMS???? where the hell are we??"

myJaywalkingLawyer: I'm still at "the castle" - need to leave in a few to catch the 11:30 bus
myJaywalkingLawyer: Her house is, as always, amazing
A N N A   : sigh
A N N A   : lucky girl
myJaywalkingLawyer: I had a great timie hanging out with her - we went to Sephora, H&M, etc. etc. Went and saw the "Interpreter" last night
A N N A   : how was that
myJaywalkingLawyer: it's pretty good

myJaywalkingLawyer: manish's party - was intimate
myJaywalkingLawyer: yet still had different circles present
myJaywalkingLawyer: he had nothing in his apartment
A N N A   : nothing? that could be very good, for a party.  excellent planning.

myJaywalkingLawyer: nearly everyone left at the same time
myJaywalkingLawyer: then there were about 8 of us (including vinod's cousin)
A N N A   : oh, i owe her an email
A N N A   : dammit
myJaywalkingLawyer: and we all danced, which was mad fun
myJaywalkingLawyer: um, no - it was a guy
A N N A   : ohhhh
A N N A   : i'm talking about his cousin s------.

myJaywalkingLawyer: and then everyone left for reals at like 4
A N N A   : still, i owe her an email :-)
myJaywalkingLawyer: i left shortly after that, b/c i'm the friend who helps you clear up all the cups :-)
A N N A   : you're a good friend to have!
myJaywalkingLawyer: i know!
myJaywalkingLawyer: i do it b/c i hate that feeling - when you wake up and look around and everything is a mess

A N N A   : what's his apt like?  nice?
myJaywalkingLawyer: yes - the floor is gorgeous (but i'm into that kind of thing)
A N N A   : me too! floors are key.  was MV happy?
myJaywalkingLawyer: and the windows are spectacular
myJaywalkingLawyer: i think he was disappointed that you didn't make it
A N N A   : by the time i got the car on saturday
A N N A   : it was 6pm and stormy :-(

myJaywalkingLawyer: i hung out w/stan most of the evening
A N N A   : and when i tried to leave then at 6, ----- was like, "please don't."
myJaywalkingLawyer: yeah i was DRENCHED by the time i got there
myJaywalkingLawyer: yeah, it was seriously raining
A N N A   : so then he said he'd drive w/me b/c it was so bad out
A N N A   : but i was like...huh. w/the rain, i'll get there at 11ish if i'm LUCKY and then we have to turn around
A N N A   : and leave at 2 :-(
myJaywalkingLawyer: yeah, i think it's good that you didn't come up
A N N A   : b/c he had to be up at 6 for an 8am meeting
myJaywalkingLawyer: whoa -yeah, not so much

A N N A   : i kept feeling like
A N N A   : "8-9 hours of driving...for three hours at MOST of party?"
A N N A   : i just couldn't justify it.  still, i picked a sort of fight w/-----
A N N A   : b/c i started angsting, and i was all
A N N A   : "in 2002, i'd just get up and go wherever i wanted...i miss that. i'd go to nyc weekly. etc. rain be damned."
A N N A   : and ----- replies, "but you were going to MANHATTAN in 2002."
A N N A   : "if this party was THERE, i'd be fine w/you going alone. but it's not. it's in BROOKLYN. and that's really confusing. it's dark. it's raining. you've only been there once before and you weren't even driving!"
A N N A   : and the hidden subtext was, "and remember what happened THAT time."
myJaywalkingLawyer: ah -- i get it
myJaywalkingLawyer: :-(

myJaywalkingLawyer: but it's true - it's a lot easier to do brooklyn w/o a car
A N N A   : "if i let you go by yourself, literally, if something happens ----- has to drive up and save you, from PA."
myJaywalkingLawyer: more flexibility w/the car of course
A N N A   : "i'll have NO WAY to get to you."
A N N A   : "so this means i go with you."
A N N A   : and thus, the "nine hours" for "three hours of party" quandary
A N N A   : b/c if ----- came, no crashing in brooklyn
A N N A   : no win situation, deee. :-(
myJaywalkingLawyer: seriously, you shouldn't feel so bad
myJaywalkingLawyer: i'm not dumping on MV's party saying that

A N N A   : "the civic is overdue for maintenance. i don't think it's wise sending you alone in that car."
myJaywalkingLawyer: but i think it's good that you didn't come up, safety/logistics-wise
A N N A   : "when YOU drove to new york weekly in 2002, it was in a BRAND NEW CIVIC. not a five year old that has taken a beating."
A N N A   : i know in my head that it's good i didn't drive up in that storm
A N N A   : but my heart still hurts a bit over it
myJaywalkingLawyer: ah -- logical v. emotional
A N N A   : i really watned to go
myJaywalkingLawyer: yeah, i think the hurt has less to do with the party
A N N A   : i love manish
A N N A   : yeah fuck the partying, i have no problem doing that or not
myJaywalkingLawyer: and more to do with the idea of flexibility
A N N A   : that and manish is one of my fave people.  flexibility= i didn't feel independent and fearless and that sucked.  i felt like, "what's happened to me?  why am i acting so OLD."  to that ----- said, "not old.  just pragmatic."

A N N A   : sigh sigh sigh
myJaywalkingLawyer: i bought him a cute bday present
A N N A   : that ALSO upset me-- that i missed the bday of someone i adore
myJaywalkingLawyer: (the nicest lip balm i've ever purchased - cardamom flavor)
A N N A   : !
A N N A   : i have one of those!
A N N A   : from ______ !  ayurvedic! it's yummy
myJaywalkingLawyer: exactly
myJaywalkingLawyer: i thought he'd like it
A N N A   : i smell like tea when i wear it!
A N N A   : it's AWESOME

myJaywalkingLawyer: and he told me "it reminds me of my mom"
A N N A   : not the most efficient lip balm
A N N A   : but it's total aromatherapy
myJaywalkingLawyer: exactly!
A N N A   : it's good for the kissing ;-)
myJaywalkingLawyer: i wouldn't know about that :-)
A N N A   : i'm just saying
myJaywalkingLawyer: :-D

A N N A   : p.s. you know i'm going home, right?
myJaywalkingLawyer: when are you leaving?
A N N A   : i fly outta dulles wed at 8ish. come back NEXT wed at 7am
myJaywalkingLawyer: do you need a ride?
A N N A   : no, sweetie :-)
A N N A   : just wanted to remind
myJaywalkingLawyer: i ask b/c if i needed one it would be so hard for me to ask
A N N A   : awww
myJaywalkingLawyer: okay, coo coo
myJaywalkingLawyer: you know what i mean

A N N A   : whatchoo tink about dee MIA i burned for ya gyal?
myJaywalkingLawyer: LOVE it!
A N N A   : :-D
A N N A   : moi aussiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
A N N A   : haven't gotten sick of it YET
myJaywalkingLawyer: i'm going to have to take off soon
A N N A   : well, have a safe trip back
A N N A   : i'll ttys.
A N N A   : ;-)
myJaywalkingLawyer: bye!
A N N A   : bye

uh, where's MY MIA? ;)

This ------ must lowe you shhhooo much to not let you go in the storm =)

There aren't too many people like that in this world!!

Umm ende amme, nyaan marandu poyi!! Kshamikyanam!!

Is it bad to have no furniture? I thought chicks liked a bit, spacious place.

moishe, i'm fine with it. better no furniture than lame or gross (hello, couch from your frat house) furniture. that way there's more room for being a jackass, with no worry about ruining things. :D

(i'm known for tackling people who spend too much time on madden/xbox in my living room. if i'm bored and you're playing football...well, it seems like the appropriate gesture, no?)

;)

No furniture is a GOOD thing when you have gorgeous floors and friends who dance :)
