with the stern warnings (sometimes even capitalized for emphasis!), i'm going to go against better judgement and try to persuade you as to why it's worth taking a couple moments with my profile.
bah, who am i kidding! i'm writing you only b/c of the promise of sharing grey goose. haha. oh, and you had a great profile. one of the best i've seen. fine, probably the best. i'm going to f@#!ing shoot myself if i read one more, "i like to go dancing one night and have a blockbuster night the next!" well, that's funny. we just might get along since "i like to shoot heroin one night and smoke crack the next!"
you've got a great vibe going on and it's one i could groove with- i think. i'm pretty picky too but you seem to be a sweet combination of being sharp and cosmopolitan which is something i really appreciate. and your energy is insanely appealing though i'm pretty sure i can drive faster than you and bake
better cookies. but i do still eat trans-fat laden goldfish. yum.
anyways, i shouldn't babble on too longer. i'd be happy to write more and try to charm you with some witty banter but i think my profile serves as a pretty fair introduction. maybe you're so completely far out of my league that i'm violating one of your regulations without even knowing it. ay-yi-yi.
best of luck. and even if you blow me off (boo-hoo), send me your blog links. i get the feeling you really let loose there. and thank you, thank you, thank you for entertaining me and giving at least a glint of hope there's some interesting brown women out there for me.
cheers,
fatmango
ps. i admit i'm not malayalee or christian but my peeps are southie and my mom makes us go to mass regularly- even at the vatican sometimes. good story i'll share later. well, hopefully.

Profile Details
Let's assume you realize I was kidding up above- although crisp dosas are always appreciated. Here's a Dozen Dirrrty Tidbits about me (but hopefully not as dirty as Paris)…
1) Living in Los Angeles suits me well- the people, the mountains, the beaches of course. But my roots spread through Ohio, Chicago and NYC and I've got amazing friends all over. And while I'm sometimes accused of being a "friend collector", collectively they're the greatest thing in my life.
2) My favorite writers include Joyce, Coetzee, and Rushdie. I also read stuff like the Atlantic, Salon, W, and the back of Pop Tart boxes (Brown Sugar Cinnamon). Not sure what the info's for. Handy at dinner parties I suppose.
3) I'm training for a triathlon (a mile swim in the Pacific- yikes!) and I'm crazy about baseball, bowling, and my beloved Buckeyes.
4) I love art. In recent years I've even co-curated two shows of South Asian diasporic art. Many of my friends are talented actors, writers, and musicians so appreciating creative energy is important to me. This despite the fact I can barely finger-paint.
5) I've never had a pet and want a chocolate lab named Rasam someday.
6) I drive to Jay-Z and Snoop. I dance to d'n'b and house. I chill out to DJs like Groove Armada and Talvin Singh. Nothing beats the energy of Latin and Afropop live. Starting to dig folk like Alison Krauss now too. Shoot, sometimes I'll even wail along to Christina Aguilera ballads. Ummm...was that too much information?
7) I haven't had cable since my days in the Phi Delt house.
8) In a past life, my mom was clearly The Chef of the Gods so I grew up eating only really really well. Sadly, her gift was not passed on to me. I burn water.
9) I identify when Walt Whitman says: "Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself, (I am large, I contain multitudes.)"
10) My 2004 travel plans so far include Lisbon, Barcelona, Casablanca, Chennai, and Cape Cod.
11) I work at a university that's brimming with genius and it's great spending time with people waaay smarter than me. The drawback is that it happens an awful lot.
12) I believe in Ginger not Mary Ann, that cigarettes suck, the Hipster Handbook rules, Grey Goose with tonic liberates, tattoos serve a purpose, Rem Koolhaas might be hero, Lou Gehrig is a hero, the Protestant work ethic should be law, ghosts exist, stylish is cool but trendy is not, and War is Not the Answer.
Desired Match
I'm wary of writing up some arbitrary list of expectations let alone requirements. It seems a little presumptuous as ideally I'm the one lucky enough to meet you. But so I don't wuss out, here's a couple things coming to mind...
-- You can be silly. You can be smart. Sometimes even at the same time.
-- You're socially-conscious and politically-aware. That doesn't mean you're the next Mother Teresa but perhaps you get a little teary watching Save the Children ads or a little tweaked when you hear words like 'Enron' or 'Halliburton'.
-- Props if every so often you're deemed a bit of a fashionista or complimented on your good taste. Hip or goofy is sweet too.
-- You should be you in wide social circles (i.e. non-desi). While I'm down with the brown, my life rarely consists of bhangra parties and the sort. That scene feels an awful lot like Groundhog Day to me nowadays. Instead, good food and drink with smart and interesting people makes for the best night out. I'm still occasionally a sucker for Hollywood hot spots but the rockstar days are mostly behind me. Mostly.
-- If you harbor any sort of ill-will towards Muslims, African-Americans, gays, etc. then we won't groove. My only tolerance of intolerance is of Laker fans and neocons.
-- If you've suffered through everything above and are still inclined to contact me, please include a photo of yourself.
-- And most importantly, while I'd love meeting someone who'll tempt me with a wicked game of Scrabble or pick the wine for a picnic, what I'm really looking for is a person who brings out the best in me. Someone who raises me to a higher level- intellectually, physically, and spiritually. If you're already perfect, then I'm surprised you've read this far. I'm looking for another flawed and conflicted person who wants the adventure of chasing perfection together.
Best of Luck!!!
Ok so what r u waiting for annachechy!!! he seems AIII ;)

Just wanted to say that your profile is hillarious. I especially like the "groundhog day" comment.
