Note: As I search for pictures to update this post with, I'm revising some of my initial opinions...sometimes "eh" in front is all "ooooh," in back. ;)
penelope cruz- love, love, love. love her hair, love her earrings, love the color of her dress. LOVE the bottom of it. i almost bought something like this at jessica mcclintock last year. :) she looks spectacular from every angle, like a couture fairy tale. is she in versace?
jada pinkett smith- i have never been a fan of this woman, i don't know why. perhaps, due to the poo that was "woo"? anyway. i am all right with the bright gold color...but i'm starting to think that i'm going to be sick of the strapless silhouette very soon.
cameron diaz- so weird to see her with dark hair, i really prefer her as a blonde. she looks like an older amanda bynes during some moments. i love the color of her valentino, i appreciate the fact that like my high school graduation portrait-dress, it's off the shoulder, but i am not crazy about the skirt from the front. From behind, it's striking.
tracy edmunds- like the color, loathe the dress...especially the big mirrored teardrop thing on her sternum. wth? babyface, are you crying somewhere? because if you are, you're in good company-- the Baby Jesus hates this dress, i'm sure of it.
cate blanchett- beautiful, one-shouldered, glittering, different. when they pan out, i swoon like i once did over barbie, 25 years ago. i like how low-key she is with her jewelry, it's a wise strategy with such an ornate dress. her hair is elegant. that and i'm so biased in her favor post-LOTR :D
kate winslet- what color is her dress? creme de menthe? i like the sari-pallu-esque back of it, but you probably predicted that. :) yay for a non-strapless silhouette! i wish i could see her minaudiere...does it have tassels? i like her hair, too. i don't care what anyone says, she is very pretty and no, she is not FAT.
helen mirren- lacroix always makes me think of the 80s. the first moment i saw her, i was all "eh", but considering who is wearing it and where she is in her life, it's perfect. makes her cleavage look loverly. it works. very graceful.
ellen degeneres- love that she's in velvet. :) the color is...different. not my fave, but i understand, how many colors would that tuxedo-esque...thing...look good in, really? also, her black "open shirt" outfit which was worn c. 11:45pm is kinda hot.
nicole kidman- points for wearing my signature color ;), points for wearing something sleek, but the first time i saw her outside the ceremony, i barely noticed her, she looked so...dull. obviously, i didn't catch the becoming angle you see in the picture to the left; when i was underwhelmed, i saw her outside with her girl naomi. any road, i have a top which ties similarly to the neckline of her gown. i like my top, better. :D
[OT: Daniel Craig! Come to Butthead. MEOW!]
maggie gyllenhall- i like the one-shoulder thing, i love that she's wearing BLACK because no, it is not boring, i love the subtle sparkle. i like her hair, too. i think it's part of the reason why she looks so beautiful in black, now that i think about it.
rachel weisz- what a fantastic gown! especially because it has a BOW! i love the bejeweled border at the top of her perfectly-draped dress so much, i'll overlook the straplessness. oh, i love bows. :) yes, yes the color is very nice and so is her hair and makeup...but i'll disclose that i've always thought she was beautiful, so take this all with sea salt. if i had to nitpick, i'm not in love with her necklace. which i barely notice. because of the bow!
anne hathaway- she is such a pretty girl and i love how she gravitates old-skool despite being such a young'n. from far away, the giant bow on her bodice looks like a corset or similar. still trying to decide if i love said enormous bow...or if it's an "almost-but-not-quite". what a frightening moment of confusion-- maybe i don't love all bows? ;) perhaps there can be too many bows??? beautiful hair and makeup, though.
[OT: I think the show is cute this year. :) I'm rather enjoying it. Go Ellen! The MySpace/pic bit was funny, as was the OscarBjorn...but, I'm in to all things bjorn. ;)]
gwyneth- what color IS she wearing? i think i grasp the concept, not sure if i'd consider it well-executed. well, something was executed. i can't shake the feeling that bits i'm seeing shouldn't be seen...or something. i'm all for transparency in most things, maybe just not mrs. martin's frocks. also, this is something i'd wear to church for one of the three night services. where's the glamor, gwynnie?

catherine deneuve- um, i can't proclaim anything. i've had a crush on her since "the hunger" which was only intensified post-"indochine". i feel too funny in my tummy to judge her. ;) who am i to pronounce ANYTHING about deneuve???

me: i might be done. i'm no longer interested.
six: [frown]
me: celine dion killed my fashion-erection. she always does.

annnnd we're back, because like all sane people, i sweat Tamasha:
kirsten dunst- oh, claudia. why do you always wear the most unbelievably unattractive dresses? how art thou fugly tonight? let us count the plethora of ways: terrible hair, terrible lipstick, terrible color, terrible neckline, terrible fit, terrible concept (were you trying to resemble a bowling pin?), terrible washed-out effect, terrible feather duster hemline. also, how old are you? sixty? why are you the only female--besides teens who are trying to sneak in to clubs with fake IDs-- who TRIES to look OLDER, and by older, i mean WAY older?? FIRE YOUR STYLIST.
reese witherspoon- i don't love everyone with blunt-cut bangs, but damn if you ain't workin' 'em girrrrl. i also think you look wonderful in navy/aubergine. i dig how the bottom of the dress looks deconstructed and fragile. elle, i'm not sure if you've lost weight or if you're just wearing stellar foundation garments, but either way, you look beautiful. i'm certain ryan is gnashing his teeth somewhere. :D
Thanks for doing this, A N N A. I am having so much fun reading it!

I think Jaden Smith should have waited for the Little Miss Sunshine girl. Over eager much?
Is it ok to be bitchy about children? ;)

anne hathaway is toooootally at least a 7 of 10 on the Anna scale.

Naomi Watts looks like she's wearing those inflatable arm-band swimming helper things (obviously I have no idea what they're really called).

Floaties? I never learned how to swim, so I'm just as lost as you.
GMTA, I was sitting here, traumatized by them as well. Pity, her necklace is so pretty and I like the old glamour hair-concept.

I love Reese Witherspoon's hair, but sorry, I like her with a bit more curve - it used to fillout her jaw line... and now all I can focus on is her chin. Every magazine I look into now is all chin or gauntness: please: down with the skinny, carb-free (or whatever it is they're doing) trend.

I don't really have much to add, as per the actual show, since I only watched parts of it before going back to playing with Deshaun Dishoom (I did catch the Myspace bit, though...funny ha-ha).
However, I would like to ask permission to take "...sometimes "eh" in front is all "ooooh," in back." as my personal, descriptive, motto...or at least use it for a temporary Fotolog page banner. ;-)
