You know what's interesting? When you listen to 80s music, you can hear the influence of 60s motown and 70s disco. Of course there were the obvious retro soul/r&b samples in 90s hip hop but when you listen to today's hip hop, you can't really hear the influence of any of these forgotten classics.

I found your page randomly looking for my cousins- but man that is one greatttt playlist.
Nas' halftime is my fave. Most anything by Nasir outside of the majority of "streets disciple" is amazing.
